The Leashaw Landslip

As you've probably noticed, we have another landslip and another road closure. To make it worse, the land is still moving and until it's clear what's causing that, no one can start repairing it. And what makes it even more complicated is that there's a water main, two gas mains, a BT cable, an electricity cable, a sewer pipe and highway drainage pipes running through the area,

What's happening now is that Derbyshire County Council is monitoring the land movement and will be getting specialist geotechnical survey work done. At the same time they are working with the utility companies to keep the pipes and cables safe.

There is no quick fix for this but we will keep updates on the Crich Parish Council website and there's more detailed information at www.Derbyshire.gov.uk
