Cllr Kate Smith
Kate has lived in Crich for 30 years and has a languages degree. She has two sons in their twenties, and ran the local branch of a major parenthood charity until about 2000. She earlier worked in communication skills training for companies across Europe and Japan. She has had various voluntary roles in health over many years, and is currently a member of Crich Patients' Participation Group.
Kate was a Parish Councillor from 2003 to 2008 (interests included highways, planning and housing), and was re-elected in 2015. She enjoys helping to fix problems for local people. She sings with husband Paul in a church choir and reads widely, especially Jane Austen and anything feminist.
Kate works at the Tramway Museum, and is normally in the gift shop on Mon/Wed/Fri from mid-March till early November.
