Cllr Ann Tipton
Councillor
Representing Crich
Ann moved to Crich in early 2021 and has enjoyed getting to know the area and the community. Originally a secondary school teacher, she moved to work in Local Authority management with responsibilities including special educational needs, early years provision, youth and community services and work-based learning. She retired as a Service Director in Children's Services. Since then she has had time to pursue interests in needlework, gardening and reading as well as walking her rescue dog, Rocky.
Derbyshire has long been a part of her life; she lived in South Derbyshire in the 1980s but then moved to South Yorkshire and later Greater Manchester for work – but always coming back to the Peak District when possible. She is delighted to have found a home in Crich and to be able to play a part in supporting the Parish Council's work.
